ZIKR AND WAZAIF
OPENING OF FAST: TIME FOR ACCEPTANCE OF DUA Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) has narrated that the Prophet (sallallaho alai hi wasallam) stated: "Whatever is prayed for at the time of breaking fast is granted and never refused." (Tirmizi) Other special times for acceptance of Dua are: 1. The Dua between Azaan and Iqama (the call for start of prayers) is never rejected. (Tirmizi) 2. When the Muazzin says the Azaan. 3. During the month of Ramadan. 4. During the final third portion of the night. DUA FOR CLOSING OF FAST "Wa be-saume ghadin nu-vai-tu min shah-re Ramadhana" (I intend to fast on this day of Ramadhan) DUA FOR OPENING OF FAST Alla-humma inni laka soom-to. W' bika aa-manto. W'alaika ta-wak-kalto. W'ala rizki-ka af-tar-to. (O Allah! I have fasted for You. I believe and depend on You. And open the fast with what You have provided). ZIKR FOR EID Prophet Mohammad (sallallaho alaihi wasallam) has stated that the one who on Eid day recites "Subhanalla hi wabihamdihi" 300 times and gives its blessings as a gift to Muslims who have died, then 1,000 enlightened blessings will enter the grave of every Muslim. And when he dies, Almighty Allah will send 1,000 enlightened blessings to his grave. (Mukaashifa-tul-Qu1oob) This recitation can be done on both Eid Days. DUA BETWEEN TARAWEEH PRAYERS 1. To be prayed after 2nd, 6th, l0th, 14th, and 18th rakat: "Ya Hai-yo ya Qaiy-yumo." 2. To be prayed after 4th, 8th, 12th, 16th and 20th rakat: "Sub-hana zil mul-ke wal-malkoot, sub-hana zil-izzat-e wal azmat-e Ivai haibat-e wal qudrat-e wal Kibriya-ay wal jabrute. Subhan malekil-hai-yil-lazi la yanamo wala yamuto, soob-buhoon qud-du-soon, Rabbana wa Rabbul-Malaik-te var-ruh. La ilaha Illallaho, nastaghferullah, wa nasalokal Jannat wa-n-auzobeka minnan-nar" RECITING DUA-E-JAMEELA : SAWAAB OF 100,000 HAJJ A person who recites Dua-e-Jameela after Tahajjud prayers, then Allah Ta 'ala will give him reward equivalent to Hazrat Mohammad (salllallaho alaihi wasallam) performing 100,000 Hajj, and in addition the reward for reciting the Qur'an 1000 times, releasing 1,000 slaves and feeding 1,000 hungry and thirsty people. There is lesser but substantial reward for reciting this Dua after Fajr, Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha prayers. It must be remembered the reward would be of Maqbool Hajj, as the reward is of Hajj performed by the Prophet (sallallaho alaihi wasallam) and secondly, reciting this Dua in Ramadhan multiplies the reward many times. This Dua is found in most Panj Surahs. (see article on Tahajjud prayers.) DUROOD-E-MALVAN A person who recites Durood-e-Malvan once, gets the reward of reciting Durood Sharif 10,000 times. A person who recites this Durood three times before going to sleep and three times after waking up in the morning earns the reward of reciting Durood Sharif 60,000 times. (Reciting it in Ramadan increases reward many times) "Allahumma salli ala sayyidina wa maulana Mohammadim makh-talfal malvani wa ta-aakbal asra-ni wa qar-ral jadi-dani. Wa bal-ligh ruh-huu wa arwah ahli bay-tihi min-t-tah-hiyyati was-saami wa baarak wa sallam alaihi qasiraa." (Tafseer: Ruhul Bayaan.
